How the association came to be

2025
The idea
A group of lawyers, attorneys and law students noticed that young lawyers from vulnerable communities were left without mentors, and low-income citizens without affordable legal aid. Hence the idea of an “incubator”: a place where legal knowledge and professional skills are grown.

Founding assembly
In Sofia, seven individuals founded the association “LEGAL INCUBATOR — BULGARIA” under the Bulgarian Non-Profit Legal Entities Act, defined its activity as being in public benefit, adopted the Statute and elected a Management Board with two co-chairs.
2026
First steps
The association is being entered in the register of non-profit legal entities, is building its internal rules, and is preparing its first mentoring and awareness programmes as well as free legal advice sessions.

Growth
Partnerships with universities, bar associations and organisations in Bulgaria and Europe, project funding, and extending legal aid beyond Sofia.
